Jason Bere is coming back in a new role.
The White Sox plan to ease Bere, who was 12-2 as an All-Starpitcher just two years ago, back into the starting rotation by firstputting him in the bullpen, perhaps as early as next weekend.
"We'll probably get him ready (for September) the way the(Seattle) Mariners are getting Randy Johnson ready," GM Ron Schuelersaid. "We might need him in that (relief) role, anyway.
Bere, who will make his third rehabilitation start for hisinjured elbow Friday at Class AA Birmingham, is open to anything.
